Luis Raul Laracuente was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Inheriting his parents love for politics and helping others he went on to study Political Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa. It was at USF that he began to follow his passion by becoming involved in Student Government, local political campaigns and by going back to his roots, Puerto Rican politics. Luis has been involved with the Puerto Rican statehood movement for several years now by promoting and educating people about the benefits of statehood.
